Summit Playhouse

By Clare Boothe Luce Directed by George Seylaz Set in the 1930s in the glamorous Park Avenue world of New York City, this satirical, all-woman play illuminates the pampered lives and power struggles of various wealthy Manhattan socialites and the gossip that propels and damages their relationships. The Women is filled with razor-sharp dialogue and social commentary particular to its time, but its themes -- marriage and divorce, socio-economic class, female friendship, standards of beauty and the role of women in society -- remain stunningly relevant today.
