33rd Annual Festival of Trees Gala
Nov 23
Junior League of Bergen County
Alpine Country Club in Demarest, NJ

Saturday, November 23 All Day

Junior League of Bergen County

Festival of Trees The Junior League of Bergen County (JLBC) is thrilled to announce our 33rd Annual Festival of Trees Gala, to be held on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Alpine Country Club in Demarest, NJ. Festival of Trees, a black tie optional gala, is our signature fundraiser and features a live and online auction. Established in Bergen County in 1932, the JLBC is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The JLBC has long been a non-profit innovator in Bergen County by founding and supporting non-profit organizations such as The Volunteer Center of Bergen County and Rebuilding Together North Jersey, as well as developing and delivering well-known projects such as Woodlea Group Home, StarPower! and Baby Basics. Additionally, The Junior League of Bergen County is also known in the community for our smaller, day-long projects, aptly named “Done-in-a-Day”. These projects deliver thousands of volunteer hours each year to in-need populations within our community. This past year we delivered projects to Brightside Manor in Teaneck, NJ, Marine Moms of Mahwah, The Boys and Girls Club of Lodi, American Cancer Society, Family Promise, Tomorrow’s Children and The Center for Hope and Safety, to name a few! None of these projects would have been possible without the generosity of our valued business partners. In April 2018 The Junior League of Bergen County launched our new community project focusing on resilience called, “Set Sail: Navigating from Dependence to Independence”. Our inaugural project community partner was CUMAC, located in Paterson, NJ. Through this project, our members are working with CUMAC clients to translate their experiences at the pantry into work/life opportunities through resume building, networking sessions, and educational work re-entry programs. Our longterm goal for Set Sail” is to expand delivery to other community partners with the long term goal of building a more resilient community The funds we raise at the 33rd Annual Festival of Trees will help make that goal become a reality. As a business owner in our community, your generous support of this year’s 33rd Annual Festival of Trees will help fund and foster our work in the community. We respectfully ask that you please consider making a donation to support our efforts. We have enclosed a Donation Contract and Sponsorship Packet with this letter. There are numerous ways to show your support: • Become a sponsor for the 33rd Annual Festival of Trees; • Donate an item or service to our auction; • Place an ad in our auction guide; • Purchase tickets to the event! We look forward to your partnership and thank you for your help advancing the JLBC’s mission. Warmest regards, The Festival of Trees Committee

Contact Helen Archontou at 201-345-1911 or harchontou@ywcannj.org or Lori Murray Director of Development and Communications at lmurray@ywcannj.org. to discuss ways to participate. A little history… We started TWIN in 1975 as Tribute to Women and INdustry. Our program was so successful that YWCAs throughout the country and the world have adopted it. Back then the term “career woman” was a relatively new one and our purpose was to help our corporate partners recognize women on their staff who rose up through the ranks in a male-dominated business environment. Much about our world and women’s place in it has changed but women still grapple with issues of equal pay equal opportunities work-life balance children and career. The heart of TWIN remains to honor women of achievement and celebrate organizations like yours that create cultures in which women can thrive. We look forward to having you take part in this time-honored tradition with us!
