The Mall Walking Club meets every Tuesday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. through December 30. It’s a great way to enjoy the benefits of walking no matter what the weather is outdoors. One loop is about a half-mile (or 1 000 steps). To join sign up at the horse fountain on Retail Level 2 (between Crate & Barrel and Urban Outfitters) on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program. Admission is free. Parking is free for all registered members of the Mall Walk program from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays. Each 2 hour session will consist of a number of fun filled, yet educational activities, demonstrations and ending with the firing a real civil war cannon. Children will witness living history while learning about the life of civil war soldiers and their families. Suggested for children ages 7 – 12. This program will be located out of doors, so children will need to come prepared to stay outside during the camp. Monthly Hike SeriesSave the date for the September hike Sunday, September 18 at 10am This is the second in our monthly series of outings meant to help newcomers discover Teatown. We will explore a different trail than the first walk and enjoy even more of what Teatown has to offer. Don’t forget to sign up for the next outing in September, where we will discover yet another of Teatown’s wonderful trails. This experience is perfect for everyone aged 5 and older, and anyone who wants to start learning about the magic of Teatown. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Bring water, light snacks, and wear supportive, comfortable shoes such as sneakers. No flip flops. This event will be lead in English and Spanish. Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial
There is so much to see on a walking tour of the Memorial Garden. The garden is in memory of Mildred and William Lasdon who once owned this estate. It was designed to incorporate three different types of gardens within one acre. The first area is a fragrance garden highlighting seasonal plantings with fragrant flowers. The second area is a shrub border containing manyinteresting shrubs for the landscape. The shrub border winds around the third area which is the formal garden with a beautiful fountain at its’ center. One loop is about a half-mile (or 1 000 steps). To join sign up at the horse fountain on Retail Level 2 (between Crate & Barrel and Urban Outfitters) on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program. Admission is free. Parking is free for all registered members of the Mall Walk program from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Fridays. Join us for an indoor in-person Storytime on Wednesday mornings in our library theater!Space is limited, and registration is required. Each registration allows you a maximum "pod" of 5 people (children+adults). Your group will be given a designated space to sit (you may want to bring something soft to put on top). Masks are required for everyone over age 2 during indoor storytimes and all times in the children's room. Storytime is designed for ages birth to 5 (but older siblings are welcome) and will be approximately 30 minutes with books, rhymes and songs.
