SummerArts offers four weeks of multi–arts workshops for children entering grades 3-9. Each week, students take part in a wide variety of artistic activities with daily sessions in visual arts, music and movement/theater, led by teaching artists who are experts in their field. In between classes kids can play outside, spend time with friends or work on a project at their own pace. Workshops for older students are more intensive and provide an opportunity for more sophisticated exploration and execution. The SummerArts program is specially designed to provide kids with a deeply creative, artistic experience. Themes and activities vary each week, giving students the chance to explore art in many forms and diverse media. Many campers are introduced to new artistic expressions and media that they never knew they loved! Classes are perfect for beginners as well as more seasoned creators. Senior Law Day
This webinar will cover a range of important healthcare treatment and decision-making issues. We will discuss the differences between palliative care and hospice and when each can benefit patients. Attendees will learn about their rights in a health care setting in order to make informed decisions as everyone is entitled to only receive health care treatment that they want and not get unwanted curative treatment. We will also cover what can be done if unwanted treatment is provided against a patient’s wishes. We hope to empower individuals to know what kind of end-of-life decisions that they can make. Speaker: David C. Leven, Executive Director Emeritus and Senior Consultant, End of Life Choices New York Aug 24, 2022 10:00 AM REGISTER HERE

Drink & Draw Hastings Public LibraryOrr Room, Lower level 7 Maple AvenueHastings-on-Hudson Admission: $20 per session Register below. You must register and pay in advance below for each session. No payments will be accepted at the door. Drink & Draw is a modern twist on the classic artistic practice of life drawing. Artists of all experience levels and backgrounds are welcome, especially those that have always wanted to try their hand. In this non-instructional event, we aim to create a relaxing, social and inclusive environment for the community to come together for a fun night of drawing. After some mingling with fellow guests, participants will have an opportunity to capture the human body in poses of different lengths, with breaks for refreshments in between. There’s wine, crackers, cheese and cookies to enjoy, and our host curates a playlist to keep your energy flowing. The evening lasts about 2 ½ hours, and participants leave with a collection of their new works… and maybe some new friends too. RiverArts is proud to be able to provide this unique opportunity right here in our Rivertowns, an opportunity which is often only accessible to art students or by traveling into New York City, with a significant investment of time and tuition. Drink & Draw offers a perfect entry-level for the amateur artist, and we have seen beginners improve significantly as their skills develop in subsequent sessions and they draw on their experience and learn from others. Model provided. Please bring your own art supplies and arrive on time. Must be over 18 to attend. Wine for those 21+ FOR MORE INFORMATION EMAIL: jriesman@riverarts.org #DrinkAndDraw Fill out my Wufoo form!
