We're currently in the first 12 days of giving so let's make it count!   On Saturday, December 13th, 2026, bring your gently used items to any Goodwill South Texas store or donation station.     Why this matters: When you donate, you’re doing more than tidying up; you’re helping create job training, career services, and opportunities for individuals and families across South Texas.   Let’s turn those “I should really get rid of this” piles into hope, jobs, and second chances. ❤️   🎄 Every family that brings donations on December 13 will receive a complimentary Jingle Bell keepsake as a thank-you for supporting the mission. 🔔✨     Hours of Operation (Dec. 13) 🛍️ Stores: 9 AM – 8 PM 🚗 Donation Stations: 9 AM – 6 PM     What we’re accepting (gently used): 👕 Clothing (all ages & sizes) 🧣 Accessories (shoes, bags, belts, jewelry, hats) 🧸 Toys & games 📺 Electronics* 🍳 Small appliances 🍽️ Kitchenware (pots, pans, utensils, dishes) 🏠 Household items & décor     🎓 Students can earn service hours! 💚 Students can log service hours through our Mission Multiplier Portal. 1 tall kitchen trash bag or medium box = 2 service hours. What forces led to war, and how did this battle set the stage for what followed?Join a Ranger for a 30-minute outdoor program and learn about the stories and strategies behind the battle and gain a deeper understanding of the war that followed. Program is held at the battlefield overlook.Dress for the weather—programs are held outdoors. In case of inclement weather, the program will move to the Visitor Center.

History happened here. Come see where it began.On May 8, 1846, the quiet prairie of Palo Alto erupted into the first major clash of the U.S.-Mexican War—a pivotal moment that reshaped the continent. Why did two nations collide here? What forces led to war, and how did this battle set the stage for what followed?Join a Ranger for a 30-minute outdoor program and learn about the stories and strategies behind the battle and gain a deeper understanding of the war that followed. Program is held at the battlefield overlook.Dress for the weather—programs are held outdoors. In case of inclement weather, the program will move to the Visitor Center.

Resaca De La Palma State Park

Hike the park to start the year off right with some exercise! Join us for a nice walk in the park! We'll tour the trail and gardens by headquarters then move out on the tram road to get some distance.Anyone is welcome to join us and no one is obligated to stay the whole time. The ranger will walk until the last person is ready to head back.The trails and roads are flat with very minor hills, and most of the hike will be on hard surfaces.Park entry is $4 for those 12 and up or free with a Texas State Park Pass.
