What forces led to war, and how did this battle set the stage for what followed?Join a Ranger for a 30-minute outdoor program and learn about the stories and strategies behind the battle and gain a deeper understanding of the war that followed. Program is held at the battlefield overlook.Dress for the weather—programs are held outdoors. In case of inclement weather, the program will move to the Visitor Center.

Resaca De La Palma State Park

Hike the park to start the year off right with some exercise! Join us for a nice walk in the park! We'll tour the trail and gardens by headquarters then move out on the tram road to get some distance.Anyone is welcome to join us and no one is obligated to stay the whole time. The ranger will walk until the last person is ready to head back.The trails and roads are flat with very minor hills, and most of the hike will be on hard surfaces.Park entry is $4 for those 12 and up or free with a Texas State Park Pass.
