Want to try your hand on an IBM punch card machine? Punched cards were widely used through much of the 20th century in the data processing industry, where specialized and increasingly complex unit record machines, organized into semiautomatic data processing systems, used punched cards for data input, output, and storage. Critical record keeping was done on punch cards across many industries and dropping a stack of cards was a disaster. Come learn more about how this machine was used and punch your own souvenir card to take home during the demo from 2-4PM!

This is followed by passing a talking stick is passed around the circle and allowing each person an equal opportunity to fully express their truth without interruption or judgment or they may simply hold the talking stick in silence. Although the circle has many expressions and thoughts, it shares one voice.Donation Requested! Please take a moment to view the Circle's Agreement. Thank you!

Millage Rate Public Hearing
Aug 9
City of Johns Creek
City Hall

Monday, August 9 at 6:00 pm

City of Johns Creek

The City of Johns Creek is currently in the process of establishing its 2021 millage rate.  The city, incorporated on December 1, 2006, has published its five-year history of its tax digest, property revenues and millage rate. In 2020 the Johns Creek City Council adopted a final millage rate of 3.986. This represented an increase of 0.43 mills from the adopted 2019 rate of 3.552. Before setting the 2021 millage rate, Georgia law requires a public hearing to be held to allow the public an opportunity to provide comment on the subject. The initial public hearing will be held at a special called meeting on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Additional public hearings on this proposed tax increase will be held on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. and another on Monday, August 16, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.  Anticipated adoption of the final millage rate for 2021 will take place Monday, August 16, 2020 at the City Council Meeting at 7:00 p.m. Each year, the Board of Tax Assessors is required to review the assessed value of taxable property in the county.  When the trends of prices on properties that have recently sold in the county indicate there has been an increase in the fair market value of any specific property, the Board of Tax Assessors is required by law to re-determine the value of such property and adjust the assessment. This is called a reassessment. For additional information on the proposed 2021 millage rate please visit the city website More Info: https://www.johnscreekga.gov/residents/finance/property-taxes Location: City Hall 11360 Lakefield Drive Johns Creek GA 30097
