Have you ever wished your new baby would come with an owner’s manual? This class will help you focus on those first couple of weeks after you give birth. Learn proven techniques to hold, soothe, and care for your baby. The second portion of the class focuses on keeping your newborn safe. You will also learn how to provide emergency care for your infant, including CPR for babies under one year old. Mannequins are provided to practice the skills learned. The goal of this class is to help maintain lactation when you are separated from baby whether at work or school. Discussion includes conversations with your employer, ways to express breast milk, the proper storage of breast milk, introduction of bottles and paced bottle feedings.
