Book Trailer Club for Grades 2 - 5 from Eastchester Public Library
We will make video book trailers or book talks of recently-released books, with an emphasis on those that are truly outstanding!This is a continuation of our Newbery Book Chat program, but is open to anyone in Grades 2 - 5 even if they did not participate in the Newbery program.Participants will be asked to read books from a list of new releases, with the "Newbery-worthy" criteria in mind (Setting, Plot, Characters, Style). We will produce book trailers that will make anyone watching them want to read the book, and also highlight some of the outstanding books that are coming out in what is truly a "golden age" of middle grade books.Online pre-registration is required. Meeting dates: Thursdays, February 27th, March 12th, March 26th, April 9th, April 23rd, May 14th from 3:45 - 4:45 pm. If you cannot make every date, or cannot make it by 3:45 but can make it by 4, please sign up anyway.See our latest flyer of new books! Award-winning filmmaker Anton Evangelista will present “Il Signor Jackson,” a story of African American New Yorker Edward Jackson. Born in Harlem and raised in a predominantly Italian American neighborhood in the Bronx in the 1950’s, Jackson worked to fulfill his dream of becoming an Italian-language teacher in the New York City public school system.
