Super Science: Lava Lamps (Chemistry & Density) from Library of the Chathams
The twin team of CHS students Lea and Jack Casano-Boris returns for a summer series of Super Science for Kids classes!  Each class includes an experiment and an explanation of the science behind that experiment.  Classes will be conducted online via Zoom.  Before the class, the students will receive a Zoom link, instructions for preparation, and will have to pick up a supply kit using the library's Takeout service.  Experiments can get a little messy, and parents' supervision and help is required for all classes.**************On July 13, we will be making bubbling lava lamps using a chemical reaction between baking soda and citric acid in an Alka-Seltzer tablet.  This experiment is a great example of the scientific principle of density and why certain liquids float on top of others.Grades 1 to 3                                                        Limit: 10 studentsEach class requires separate registration 2 weeks prior.  Sign up for Lava Lamps here.Registration limited to Chatham residents only.
