All are welcome to join us at the Leverett Library, from 1 to 2:30pm in the Library Community Room. (Not a library sponsored event.) 1:00 to 1:30-ish pm: The main event will be an Info session on rural school advocacy in MA with Rep. Blais and folks from Rural Schools MA in attendance. (And possibly Senator Comerford!) Martha Thurber and Jessica Corwin from Rural Schools MA will teach us about their very impressive advocacy on behalf of our public schools, including the progress of H.517/S.314 An Act to Provide a Sustainable Future for Rural Schools, currently in committee. That legislation was presented to state congress by our very own Rep. Natalie Blais and Senator Jo Comerford. Rep. Blais has confirmed she'd like to join us, and Senator Comerford will join if the stars align. 1:30-ish and beyond! We turn to Leverett DTC business, first with a Retrospective on the 2024 convention and restoration of 2020 platform, followed by member discussion of our DTC organization.
